RECAP: In the Absence of a Soundboard
A letter exchange on the realities of being a solo creator in the digital age
In case you missed the last few weeks of newsletters, below is a recap. Throughout our letter swap, we touch on lots of scattered thoughts and tangents (like Shakespeare, Palestine, and mycelium) while addressing the core theme of what it’s like to be a solo creator when being perpetually online is commonplace.
We wanted to share what that feels like, what questions we ask ourselves and each other, and what observations we’ve made while asking them.
In the process of thinking out loud together (and with you all reading along), we found that the definition of community is not static. As the world around us gets darker, it’s up to us to make sure it doesn’t lose all its light. It’s up to us to keep the fire going and imagine a better way, through our tensile networks of support.
But that’s much too simple and vague, we encourage you to read through our letters to see all the places our minds went.
