RECAP: The Distance Between Eastern Coasts
A letter exchange with Kara Daly that unpacks how our two homes are undergoing linked crises
I know we promised this recap would be out by the end of November but A LOT happened during the 5ish weeks it took to conduct this correspondence. About halfway through, it felt too heavy to carry on but I’m proud of us for sticking with it.
Since kicking it off in late October, Kara & I covered many bases. I can confidently say it was the most intense back & forth I’ve had to write in this year’s batches of letters, made only more challenging by the fact that I have never met Kara. Again, I’d like to thank her for diving straight into the deep end, all the way until Lebanon’s shaky ceasefire was declared. Oddly enough, we both returned home that same week.
