track+field: a June 2025 recap
Photo preservation, birthdays, kittens, and a stroll on the beach + a SNEAK PEEK at the title frame of my latest project that's turning me into a recluse 🕷
This newsletter incorporates movement and activity (hikes, walks, etc) into my work. I’m a productive and self-disciplined person except when it comes to tasks related to taking care of myself (like exercise, diet, and rest). This log blends the two areas of my life (health + work) and it tracks my time in the field.
The 2024 paid newsletter, Grapevine, a bulleted list of offline things I was exploring, is now collapsed into this monthly dispatch.
I’ve been blooming in bursts this June. I disappear for days and then make back-to-back plans to prove I’m alive to whomever it concerns. These cycles are all in an effort to sustain the momentum I’ve got going on completing my little film. It’s funny how, as the temperature rises, my July social battery will start to resemble January’s. I’m holing up with my laptop under the AC instead of going outside. Complete opposite weather but the same avoidance.
It’s funnier that I’m aware of this while also incapable of functioning without autopilot things (like walking, driving, or reading) outdoors that give my brain space to run around. So while I’m still figuring out how to trick myself into being outside at sunrise/sunset in +30* weather, I’m also “remodeling” a home office to avoid doing everything from my air-conditioned bed for the next three months. Balance? We’ll see.
