track+field: an April 2025 recap
Cremation in Roman Beirut, Um Kulthoum with some penguins, films on Lebanon's Biodiversity, an Oscar winner, and the launch of Vindalisme
This newsletter incorporates movement and activity (hikes, walks, etc) into my work. I’m a productive and self-disciplined person except when it comes to tasks related to taking care of myself (like exercise, diet, and rest). This log blends the two areas of my life (health + work) and it tracks my time in the field.
The 2024 paid newsletter, Grapevine, a bulleted list of offline things I was exploring, is now collapsed into this monthly dispatch.
April was jam-packed. Between film screenings, workshops, Israeli airstrikes, AUB events, and lots of full days with friends, it’s been a nonstop couple of weeks.
Although it was an indirectly active month in terms of movement, I overextended myself in many ways. The activity (walking) didn’t outweigh the indulgences, mostly taken out of convenience. I’m excited about hiding at home to recharge (and clean!!) but I don’t want to kill the momentum entirely. I’ve got to figure out the right speed so that I’m home often enough to keep going.
